He Passed!

Bradley had been studying for his National Registry EMT test for two weeks straight. Let me back up actually. So when we moved back to Spokane in May, Bradley immediately enrolled in an EMT class that was prerequisite to taking the EMT exam. After he completed the class, he took the national EMT exam and found out that the class hadn't prepared him well enough to pass. The EMT exam has a 75% fail rate for the fist attempt. So he started studying online and taking example tests. He did that for a couple weeks and tried again to pass the test. No such luck :-( That test was so stinkin hard!

Then soon after he found out he didn't pass that time the civil service office called and asked if he was interested in being on the interview list and that if he wanted an interview he would have to give them a confirmation number to prove that he had passed the EMT exam!! Tricky thing was that he had to wait two weeks to even apply to take the test again. That meant he would hardly have time to take the exam, receive the confirmation that he passed, and report back to the civil service people to set up an interview before it was too late.

So Bradley got to work, ordered a workbook that went with his textbook, studied at least 8 hours a day, read the entire 1100+ page textbook, and worked through the whole 450 pages of workbook tests. He had one last chance to pass the test before he would have to take the EMT class over again. He took the test last Tuesday morning, found out at 5:40am on Wednesday...which he woke up his parents and brother to tell them. He contacted the civil service office that morning and received a phone call Saturday morning inviting him to interviews this week! He is set up for Thursday at 2pm and should know the outcome by Monday evening on the 5th of December. Needless to say it has been a very stressful, rewarding, exciting, and crazy last couple of weeks! Hopefully it ends exciting too!
